The delicatessen in the Courtyard at the Mains of Taymouth estate manages to fulfil the roles of a greengrocer, a gelateria and a deli without seeming crowded or unfocused. It's an airy, modern building with plenty of browsing space and, because of the range, it has become important to nearby holidaymakers and locals alike who come for basic essentials or luxurious treats, all with a strong local flavour. Most weekends have tastings conducted by some of the 25 Perthshire producers represented in the shop, from the Glen Lyon coffee served up and Inveralmond brews to the Rannock Smokery meats – which also go on their home-made pizzas. The thoughtful operation offers food starter packs for tourists, veg boxes for free 15-mile delivery and gift hampers that can be made up on the spot.

First started in 1962 Swinburn's Farm Shop has been part of the local community for generations. 'John in the Shop' as he is known to many has been there for over 30 years, serving customers with knowledge on various equine and small animal feeds, and also bringing fresh fruit and veg to the regulars. Taking on 2 expansions in its time the Farm Shop has seen many changes in customer shopping habits however have stuck to its principles of good quality at a reasonable price.

Our farm shop is open throughout the year but during the summer season we have a wide range of soft fruits. All our fruits; strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants and redcurrants are grown by us here at Sinnington. Ludlow Farmshop, the new name for Ludlow Food Centre. One of the challenges that we have here is communicating the scope of who we are and what we do. The previous Food Centre was born out of the idea to create a shop in which to sell the array of produce from our farms and land which extend to some 8,000 acres surrounding the shop. In order for us to go back to our roots we felt that Farmshop better described who we are and what we do. We produce over half of the products we sell on site, and this hasn’t changed. In fact, what we have looked to do is open more windows into the production areas so that you can see your food being made.
