Pitney Farm Shop

Our farm is called Glebe Farm. We farm 90 acres of organic mixed livestock and arable land. Also, in summer our animals graze on 40 acres of lush pasture on the Somerset Levels. It has been farmed by the Walrond family for over 200 years with three generations involved on the farm today. We converted the farm to organic production in 1999 and have been farming organically ever since. We are licensed growers and processors with the Soil Association.

With the award of the farm’s organic certification came the introduction of Eversfield’s first organic box scheme. The Farm Shop @ Barra Castle is open during our soft fruit growing season, from June to October. In the early days, we only sold our strawberries, raspberries and blackberries which are grown just yards from Barra Farm Shop, but now we stock a range of high quality Scottish produce and our delicious fruit ice-cream.

Spilman Summer Fruits

We have been growing strawberries at Church Farm, Sessay, since 1970, starting off with 2 acres, and gradually increasing to the present 12 acres. 1 acre of raspberries was planted in 1990, and this area has now increased to 3 acres. Alongside these fruits are also blackcurrants, redcurrants, gooseberries and plums.

All our fruits; strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants and redcurrants are grown by us here at Sinnington. Dalduff Farm Shop

The main reason to visit Dalduff, apart from attending a wedding, is to buy well sourced beef, lamb and pork as well as our famous handmade pies. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find produce that tastes good every time; supermarkets continue to work with meat from the lower end of the scale, believing that consumers want their food cheap. Whilst this may be true for some, we believe that many people today are quite happy to pay for quality, and at the same time know they are getting value for money.
