All of our meat and approximately 90% of our vegetables for the veg boxes is grown here at Hallwood Farm. The emphasis is always on own, local and seasonal first but in order to provide a wider choice we buy produce from other local farms and food producers and everything else from further afield comes from our wholesaler in Cornwall.

Over 16 years ago we began sourcing and bringing together producers from across the North West, launching ‘Northern Harvest’ in 2002. Here at Mains of Leask we grow a wide range of vegetable which vary by the season. At the start of the season, from late July to late September, salad crops and brassicas dominate. Lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, peas, spinach, chard, beetroot, cauliflower and broccoli, amongst others.
