Fundraising Page Raises Money for Farmer after Honesty Box Raid

A rural community in Staffordshire has launched a fundraising campaign after thieves targeted a young farmer. In the early hours of the morning on Monday 11th May, a break-in occurred at "Sams Hens Free Range Eggs". His freezer was stolen along with its contents and an honesty box containing money.

The 25-year-old, who started selling eggs when he was eight, now keeps 2,000 hens alongside the family's dairy, beef and sheep enterprises. News of the theft shocked locals and prompted one to set up a JustGiving page in a bid to raise £400 to replace the stolen items. The crowdfunding initiative had raised £586 so far.

Anyone with information can message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter, or call 101 quoting incident number 101 of 11th May.
