The main idea behind the scheme is to provide Bristol residents with a supply of fresh produce from as close by as possible, cutting down food miles and carbon emissions.Is this your company?
For around 9 months of the year the veg comes mainly from local farms eg Leigh court farm in Abbots Leigh (5 miles) and Farringtons in Farrington Gurney (15 miles away)
In the dead of winter and the 'hungry gap' when the most local food is in short supply, they are sourced from further afield but the philosophy stays the same - to source the nearest possible.
