The Crazy Bear Farm and Farm Shop were originally created for our restaurants - for our chefs, butchers and farmer to work together to develop specialist produce with absolute traceability. Feeding on a variety of grasses and herbage, clover meadows and herb-rich uplands allows them time to mature at a gentle pace. Our customers often comment that our hogget and mutton has a flavour of the herbs and hill grasses in it.

However these idyllic surroundings are only 5 miles from Leeds and easily accessible by car, bike, train and on foot.Facilities on the farm include our farm shop from which we sell all our fresh and local produce, our butchery and poultry slaughterhouse, an organic dairy and a Victorian walled garden where we grow vegetables through a community supported agriculture scheme.

Moorgate Farm
The KellyBronze turkey is reared here on Moorgate Farm until full maturity has been achieved. All our turkeys are free range roaming on t the wooded grassland area of our farm. These birds are raised by using traditional farming methods, they have the shelter of an open sided barn with deep straw and plenty of fresh air. The birds are grown to maturity over several months and fed on cereal and vegetable protein without additives, drugs or growth promoters. We hand pluck the birds and let them hang for tenderness. Your turkey is presented to you in our signature box with a meat thermometer and cooking instructions.
