Balnafettach Farm

A family-run farm situated just outside Cromdale within the Cairngorms National Park, the Cassells farm one of Scotlands oldest native breeds, pure Highland Cattle, and a small flock of sheep - a mixture of pure Jacobs and Texel X. They also have free-roaming chickens, and occasionally rear rare breed pigs from weaners, which they turn into bacon themselves using traditional methods. Working recently with an on-farm butcher, they offer seasonal wild game, shot on the farm and locally, as well as mutton. Blacker Hall Farm Shop

As a family of farmers we take a hands-on and traditional approach to everything we do to achieve the best quality possible. Our beef roasts and steaks are matured on the bone for a minimum of 21 days, our award-winning hams and bacon are dry-cured here by us, and our bread is freshly baked each morning. Whilst it’s impossible for us to compete with local supermarkets on price, there’s no contest when it comes to taste and provenance.

Nightingale Farm Shop

Gibbet Oak Farm began by supplying the markets. Early in the morning, Dad would drive our produce to Borough Market (a far cry from what it is today). Some 20 years ago, we added a humble honesty box stall on the farm, where you could buy boxes of our fruit. It quickly built up a loyal local following, and grew into a fully-fledged farm shop. Now we supply our customers and many local businesses with home-grown seasonal fruit, including our famed asparagus, cherries, strawberries and raspberries, as well as apples and pears, and our award-winning juices.

Ludlow Farmshop

Ludlow Farmshop, the new name for Ludlow Food Centre. One of the challenges that we have here is communicating the scope of who we are and what we do. The previous Food Centre was born out of the idea to create a shop in which to sell the array of produce from our farms and land which extend to some 8,000 acres surrounding the shop. In order for us to go back to our roots we felt that Farmshop better described who we are and what we do. We produce over half of the products we sell on site, and this hasn’t changed. In fact, what we have looked to do is open more windows into the production areas so that you can see your food being made.
